I&#039;ve had good luck giving myself a very reasonable monthly &quot;allowance.&quot;  Even though it&#039;s not much, it makes all the difference, since I know that within a few weeks, I&#039;ll be able to buy any (reasonable) item. Best of luck with your 2009 deadline!

I&#039;m sure you&#039;ve already checked out The Simple Dollar and Get Rich Slowly, but those authors both started out with significant debt and have made great recoveries. I&#039;m a huge fan of both, since they&#039;re very helpful yet real.</description>
